The power of finding your people while building a business
Do it Now Now’s initiative, Black and Good, is holding a business skills course for female entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs and is fully underway. In just a few short weeks we have formed close bonds, a strong network and grown knowledge to develop foundations and support the further flourishing of our businesses.
It is a joy being together each week and for a very special touch we recently held a Brunch and Learn session to give zest to the learning experience and further encourage creative flow.
It began with peace and tranquility, a special guest visit from the beautiful soul, Rebecca Moore. Rebecca Moore is a deeply loved meditation, breathwork facilitator and intuitive wellbeing guide. Having launched IDOL magazine, running her own soul work practices and co-founding non-profit organisation We Are Formless, Rebecca understands the entrepreneur’s journey and the importance of supporting our wellbeing along the way.
It began with a moment of connection, taking time to really be present with each other throughout the programme. Then Rebecca shared with us some golden insights into developing balance, along with calm confidence to support our experience as business leaders. What followed was a truly blissful meditation and breathwork experience, gently guided by Rebecca herself. Though the session took place online, we began to feel a comforting and relaxing energy rise within us all, any anxieties or stresses released and our focus returned to the very moment.
Understanding the challenges, difficulties and stresses that can arise when building or scaling a business, Rebecca brought the session to a close by sharing with us some ways to release heavy energy and frustration through somatic practices. They made us smile, free any inner tensions and feel better in spirit.
Feeling at ease we moved into a break, we shared stories and connected with one another while cherishing the deliciousness of our brunch.
The session finished with a brand story session led by our co-trainer and business skills developer at DiNN, Letitia, who encouraged us to be true to our story, authentic in our brand expression and guided by our brand values. We learnt about the importance of story telling, how we develop our message and the power of the 5-Why’s analysis.
After working in groups to refine our story we all came together to share our words. Powered by Lived Experience and a desire for beneficial change within our communities, the conversation was filled with inspiration, admiration and a powerful feeling of being surrounded by very incredible women on a mission to create positive transformation.
With full hearts and rejuvenation we said our goodbyes excited for all of our futures ahead.
